Reel Wings have gained a large following around the world over the last few years. The wings popularity has grown mainly through the word of mouth of satisfied customers and from the recommendations made by professional fly tyers and fishing guides. Reel wings have also received excellent reviews from fly fishing and fly tying magazines, online magazines, blogs, forums and through facebook. Joseph is very proud of the wonderful feedback he gets from his customers as he regards Reel Wings as a passion not just a business. Below are some examples of Reel Wing reviews and features.
Trout Fisherman Magazine
Reel Wings gets a great review from independent tester Robbie Winram in the 'Home tyer' section of the magazine. Firstly Robbie liked the delicate realistic appearance of the wings. Robbie then goes on to say that previous to trying Reel Wings that he was not a fan of synthetic wings as they always twisted his leader, he says that Reel Wings made him eat his words and that not only where they easy to tie but they never once twisted his leader. Robbie also spoke to me on the phone and congratulated me on how durable and long lasting they were when fishing.
Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Magazine
Magnus Angus is impressed with Reel Wings in his review in the 'On the bench' section of the magazine. He comments on how much better Reel Wings look and how thin and flexible they are. Magnus says he prefers Reel Wings to 'Rigid' alternatives as alternatives dont have the delicacy of a reel wing and this can cause problems when casting. He says that Reel Wings are 'the best sheet wing he has seen'. He enjoys the versatility of the product and recomends them to tyers that want to add a touch more realism to their flies.
Trout & Salmon Magazine
Trout and Salmon gave Reel Wings a big thumbs up in the review in their Tackleshop Fly-tying section. Her is what they had to say 'We think these wings will be a big hit with river-fishers and may appeal to those who like the concept but have been put off by the problem of leader twist. They are also the softest and lightest we've seen and will have minimal impact on the way the fly casts and sits on the water'. The reviewer went on to echo one of the core pieces of feedback we get...' They look and feel more natural than alternatives'.
